Mariah Pushes Out 100%

According to Jermaine Dupri's latest Twitter status, Mariah Carey has quickly pressed out another single for radio entitled, "100%". As stated some months ago on the blog, "100%" is supposed to be the theme song for her upcoming film coming out in November called Precious.

Since this is happening, it is evident that "Obsessed" won't surpass it's peak position of #11 on the Billboard Hot 100, after most critics predicted that it would be a #1 hit. Her album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, has been pushed back to a September release.

Kelly Clarkson vs. Beyonce

Singer/songwriter and frontman of OneRepublic Ryan Tedder should feel a bit ashamed for this. The same formula that he used in Beyoncé's past top five hit, "Halo" was also used in Kelly Clarkson's new single "Already Gone".

Kelly Clarkson recorded her song first. Tedder worked with Beyoncé after his sessions with Clarkson were over. When Beyoncé and her label realized that "Halo" and "Already Gone" had similiarities, Beyoncé urged that Halo be released immediately and now that this has been done, people are starting to think that Clarkson is ripping off her Beyoncé, but in all realness, Clarkson recorded and FINISHED her song first. I Am... Sasha Fierce just happened to be released months before All I Ever Wanted. So lame!

Which one do you like better? I love "Already Gone" much better. Both versions are below.

Diddy Owes the IRS

I doubt that rap mogul Diddy was majorly affected by the economy. He's had so many things going on this past year, that his money just keeps rolling in. But unfortunately, if he doesn't pay almost $8,000 in property taxes to the IRS for his Atlanta based restaurant, Justin's, then it could close, or he could be put in jail.

Sources have already stated that he sent out a check to pay the amount to the big boys. I'm sure that wasn't hard. It's only $8,000. Should've paid that a long time ago.

Outstanding CD Release: Jordin Sparks - Battefield

Jordin Sparks' sophomore release Battefield sets her apart from the American Idol studio treatment she had on her first album and provides a pack of R&B/pop tunes from today's major hitmakers. From teaming up with Ryan Tedder to T-Pain, Battefield showcases a big bag of products that are stellar in writing, producing, and the amazing stylings of Sparks' voice. The album starts of very upbeat with the thumpy, empowering "Walking on Snow", telling a boy that everything he does is pointless from now on. The title track "Battlefield" is one of the best ballads on this joint, starting off a tad bit slow, but by the mid-section, Sparks picks it up with a lot screams and vocal layers. Other stand out tracks are "S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)", "It Takes More", and "Emergency (911)".

This is definitely worth the buy. Her best material to date and she's just getting started FOR REAL! Jordin isn't playing. Battefield is in stores now!

Is There No More IDOL for Paula Abdul?

With all of the renewal of contracts going on with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Ryan Seacrest going on, there seem to be no hope for kind hearted judge Paula Abdul. Her manager has been waiting for a proposal for contract negotiations from Fox, but none have yet to come. The auditions for the ninth season of American Idol start next month, so hopefully something comes back, but from the looks of it, she probably won't be on the panel anymore.

Paula should just be a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance. Personally, I never thought she was fit to judge a show for singers. For dancers??? YES!!! I mean, of course, she's won a Grammy and sold millions of records, but that was based off of her performance value. Her singing ability... not so much talent there. I'm sure some people feel me on this.

Michael Jackson's This Is It to Hit Theaters

By the end of today, a deal with Sony Music and AEG Live may close to put Michael Jackson's last concert rehearsal for his This is It Tour in rotation for theatrical release. Both companies are hoping to join forces to release the footage as a concert movie by the end of this year during the Christmas holiday.

The concert is said feature tribute performances from sister Janet, brothers Jackson 5, and other major performers who have yet to be listed.

I think this is an awesome idea for all of the MJ fans who bought those tickets for his 50 sold out concerts in London. Not only them, it would also be a treat for the world to see. I'mn sure EVERYONE will go see this once it hits theaters. I'm getting my ticket the minute they're available for sale. How about you? Of course you will!

Kelis Delivering As We Speak!

A very pregnant Kelis was supposed to appear in court this morning for her divorce trial with rapper Nas, but that won't happen today because the singer is in labor, about to push out her very first child.

Good luck with that and with pushing back the trial date. I hope the baby is cute and hopefully this kind of brings them together again (in some kind of way). Babies are a blessing.
